Simple Ways to Boost Energy

August 29th, 2022

Dragging your feet a little too much these days? We get it!  Life is busy, and it can be exhausting! If you need a little pep in your step, we’ve got you covered with these simple tips on how to get a much-needed energy boost.

Exercise regularly. Did you know that just thirty minutes of exercise a day can make a huge difference in your energy levels?? It doesn’t even have to be an intense workout! Even a brisk walk will do the trick. Of course, if you feel like doing something more rigorous, that’s fine too. It’s all about your comfort level and doing what you enjoy, whether it be weightlifting, yoga, running, a group fitness class, or a combination of all kinds of different workouts. Whatever you do, just do it consistently. Need a little motivation? Consider hiring a personal trainer at Driven Fit + Sponaugle who will support your goals and keep you accountable!

Improve your sleep. So many distractions, so little sleep?? Again, we get it. But getting enough sleep is critical to keeping energy levels up. Follow these helpful tips to get a better night’s rest…

  • When possible, go to bed at the same time every night.
  • Avoid your phone several hours before bedtime, and instead, focus on getting your mind into a restful state. Meditation is a great way to accomplish this.
  • Do not eat right before bedtime.

Maintain a healthy diet. Eating healthy doesn’t just help you look better, it also helps you feel better and have more energy! Don’t get too hung up on crazy, short-term weight-loss diets. Instead, maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating lots of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean meats. Limit your sugar and fat intake, and don’t forget to drink plenty of water! At Driven Fit + Sponaugle, our personal training programs incorporate nutritional guidance customized to meet the specific needs and goals of our clients.

Avoid the big three. Energy drinks, sugary snacks, and drugs – all three will give you a temporary burst of energy but will make you crash down hard. Not to mention, they can all lead to dangerous, addictive habits. Even sugar has addictive properties that cause the brain to react the same way it would with illicit drugs.
