Fit Exercise Into Your Routine – Even When You’re Busy!

Don’t bail on your dream to get and stay fit!  New Years’ or no, there are NO EXCUSES. Even, if there’s “no time.” Eating a healthy diet is great, but it’s not enough! To truly stay fit, you also need to maintain an active lifestyle. Yes, that means exercise.

We know you’re busy, but exercise doesn’t have to take a huge chunk of your day! Just 30 minutes is enough to get the blood flowing. Our personal trainers offer different strategies on how you can easily incorporate exercise into your weekly schedule. C’mon people let’s get ready for a total body transformation!

Start with Small Exercises

One of the best ways to introduce exercise into your normal routine is by starting small and easing yourself into a routine until you fully adapt. Because getting fit is all about consistency and patience, simple exercises will allow your body (and mind) to adjust to a new schedule.

The first step is to look at your schedule and determine the amount of time you can realistically devote to exercise each week. The next step is to establish goals. For example, exercise for 30 minutes once a week to start, then 30 minutes twice a week, 30 minutes three times a week, and so on.

 Have a Positive Mindset

Positivity is key! There will always be an excuse, so don’t let that kill your willpower to workout. Think about the benefits of exercise, how it will help you get in shape, make you feel better about yourself, and help prevent illness. A positive mindset will also help you find time for exercise and make healthier lifestyle choices.

Wake Up Earlier

If your job is too demanding to exercise during the day (or even at night), plan to wake up an hour earlier than normal. Take a morning run or go to a class at a nearby gym. Just a quick 30-minute workout in the morning will do a body good!

When you feel like you have too much on your plate, scheduling is important. If waking up earlier isn’t a habit you can commit to, then commit to your calendar (remember to add getting ready and travel time!)

Have an Exercise Support System

Having a support system is one of the most helpful ways to commit to an exercise routine. This can be in the form of a trainer, work colleague, friend, family member, an exercise class…basically anyone and anything that keeps you accountable and encourages you to keep going.

At Driven Fit + SWS, we offer private and semi-private personal training. Plus, you can train from anywhere with our videos and app. Our South Tampa gym even offers a variety of classes to help you stay motivated!

Join a Gym Near Your Office

If you can sneak away from the office for a quick workout, find a gym that is nearby (Ours is conveniently located in South Tampa). This will make it so much easier to incorporate exercise into your daily life! With a gym, you will have access to plenty of equipment and professional fitness trainers who will guide you throughout your fitness journey.

If a gym near your work isn’t feasible, pick one with virtual training or hours that suit your schedule.

Take the Stairs

Wherever there’s a stair, take it! This is one of the easiest forms of exercise and you do not have to create any time for it! Take the stairs when you get to the office, go to lunch, leave work, you get the idea.

Climbing stairs is a simple, yet effective form of cardio as it increases your heart rate and improves the health of your bones, joints, and legs.

Track Your Workouts

Thanks to Apple watches, Fit Bits, and more, tracking workouts has never been easier. You can measure your daily activity level, which will keep you motivated to improve.

Doesn’t it feel good when you realize that you can do something today that you couldn’t a few days ago? We think so. When you workout at Driven, you can also track your progress with our state-of-the-art Styku body scanner.
